How we approach and execute a brand design project

We have many year of experience when it comes to designing brands and logos, so thought we would present a run-down of how we approach and execute a brand design. The company in question was Emvia Ltd, see the result here.

1. Introduction:

Our design studio was thrilled to collaborate with Emvia Ltd, a prominent traffic management consultancy that specialises in providing innovative traffic management design solutions. The project’s aim was to create a visually captivating and memorable logo along with a comprehensive brand identity that represents Emvia’s expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence in the field of traffic management.

2. Project Objectives:

The primary goal of this project was to design a unique, versatile, and timeless logo that reflects Emvia Ltd’s core values and conveys their position as a leader in the traffic management industry. Additionally, we established a cohesive brand identity that can be consistently applied across various touch-points, including stationery, digital media, website, marketing materials, and corporate presentations.

3. Target Audience:

The logo and brand identity was developed with Emvia Ltd’s diverse target audience in mind, which includes but is not limited to:

This collaborative process enabled us to create a logo and brand identity that aligns with Emvia’s vision while standing out in the competitive traffic management market.

5. Logo Design:

The logo was designed to be easily recognisable and scalable, ensuring it remains clear and impactful across different platforms and sizes.
We explored different visual elements, typography, and color schemes to portray Emvia’s professionalism, reliability, and expertise.
The logo encompasses both symbolic and typographic elements that embody the essence of traffic management and Emvia’s core values.

6. Brand Identity:

Building upon the chosen logo design, we developed a comprehensive brand identity system that includes primary and secondary color palettes, typography guidelines, and graphic elements.
The brand identity is adaptable and flexible, allowing Emvia Ltd to apply it consistently across their various marketing materials and communication channels.
We ensured the brand identity was cohesive and visually harmonious therefore creating a lasting and memorable impression on Emvia’s target audience.

How to design a logo for a new brand

Designing a logo is a crucial step in creating a brand identity. A logo is often the first thing that people see and it can have a huge impact on how they perceive a brand. Therefore, it’s important to design a logo that represents the brand’s values, mission, and personality. Here are some steps to help you design a logo for your new brand:

  1. Define your brand: Start by defining what your brand stands for, what values it represents, and what makes it unique. This will help you to create a logo that accurately reflects the brand’s identity.

  2. Research your competitors: Look at logos of brands that are similar to yours and take note of what you like and don’t like. This will help you to avoid making common mistakes and to differentiate your brand from others.

  3. Choose the right type of logo: There are several types of logos, including symbol logos, typographic logos, and combination logos. Choose the one that best suits your brand’s identity and message.

  4. Keep it simple: A simple logo is often easier to recognise and remember. Avoid using too many elements or overly complicated designs, as they can make the logo difficult to read and understand.

  5. Choose the right colours: Colour is an important part of a logo’s design. Choose colours that reflect your brand’s personality and values.

  6. Make it scalable: A good logo should be able to work at any size, from business cards to billboards. Make sure your logo can be easily scaled without losing its quality or legibility.

  7. Get feedback: Show your logo to friends, family, and potential customers to get feedback. Listen to their comments and make changes if necessary.

  8. Finalise your logo: Once you’re satisfied with the design, finalise it and save it in different file formats so you can use it in a variety of applications.

In conclusion, designing a logo is a critical step in creating a brand identity. By following these steps, you’ll be able to create a logo that accurately represents your brand and makes a great first impression.
